Me again

Hi there,

Good Morning to you all.

I did not think that it would be this long until I was able to come online and post. I have been sort of getting the ideas of making cards and have been sorting out my craft space so that I am able to make cards. I have been popping around blogs, seeing what all my lovely blogging buddies have been up to and seeing all your georgous creations.

I still miss my mum and I always will. I remember at the hospital when my mum went for some hemodialysis treatment and whilst they were connecting her up, I was waiting in the waiting room area. The news was on the tv, and they were talking about coping with death from those who are in the army. This wife said, that she took a day at a time, and it is not just the first birthday / anniversary / christmas you get over, it is the second. It isn't something you get over, or something that it becomes easier to deal with, and over time it becomes like a badge that becomes more bearable to wear.  I guess I have to go through that, as this coming Saturday will be what would have been my mother's birthday. Followed by the weekend after being the 5th month anniversary since my mother passed away.

All I want to do is carry on, be strong, be happy and make my mum proud and exceed her expectations of me.

I really shouldn't make my blog all doom and gloom, but this is how I really feel. I hope that now I made a purchase of some new memento ink pads, had some experiments that I will be able to produce something soon that will be worth showing.

This weekend Strictly Come Dancing is back on TV, lets see who the contestants of this series will be.

On another note, have you been watching the X Factor? Oh my, there have been some surprisingly good contestants, and some not so good. And that Britney impersonator who had been on Britains Got Talent previously, was on Sundays show. ITV really shouldnt have shown her on TV, because that is all she wanted to be on there for was some time on the TV. I am glad Gary did a runner and escaped her.

Hello

hi folks,

It has been a long while since I have had the heart to come here and make a post. It has certainly been a very tough and testing time for me. I still have all my crafting stuff, and have not yet given up on blogging on this lovely world of crafty folk.

I am certainly still going through the works and having family support is great. But none of it is the same as your own mum, with that unconditional love and support.

I have more to go through yet, as we will be scattering ashes soon and an inquest to get through over the death of my mum.

I can not promise any regular posts from me, or cards from me. I have not made a card since my mother passed away. And my cards that I did start in April, are still sitting in my crafting space waiting to be finished.

But I thought today I would come on and say hello, whilst I try to get used to this world without my mother and get through these difficult days.

With love

Update

Thank you for all your kind support and wishes.

Some of you may have read on my facebook page, but I wanted to come here and let everyone know that my mother passed away on Monday 23rd April 2012 at 16:20.

Update

Please accept my apologies for the lack of posting. It has been really hectic and busy here.

My mum is currently in hospital. Her condition has worsened. So with the operation tomorrow things will get better. My heart is absolutely not in anything. And I do not think I will post a while on this blog, until my mum has made a full recovery.

Me To You Card 27

Hi instead of the doom and gloom that has been my blog, I thought I would share a card today and when I am able to make some. Since I still have bought some items, but have not had a chance to use them. So need to start making cards again even if it is for my own sanity.

Here is an Easter Card today, I am not sure what I think of this, maybe some more flowers and stitching and I will be happy.

hi all

Thank you for all your lovely comments and wishes. I much appreciate it.

It has been a while since I have posted and I never meant to leave it so long.

I am touched by all your comments and support, whilst I take this break and since all of you have been so kind to leave me comments. I thought I would drop you a quick note just to say hello and give you an update on my mum.

The angioplasty has been successful, but the circulation in her foot has not improved her much, and her skin is not so good on her foot. And for those reasons she continue to be in a pain. She has been put forward again for her heart bypass surgery, however for that she will need the heart and kidney doctors approval before they proceed. So more worrying days ahead. I continue to pray for my mum

Thursday, 8 March 2012

hi all

I just wanted to update you on my mum. She is currently in hospital. They thought her blood circulation was not good in her leg, after angioplasty. However, intial reports from the scan look good we are waiting for the doctor. Also, as a result of poor circulation she has developed blackness in her big toe, and the finger next to it. The doctor is saying that if in a couple of weeks if it does not dry naturally and start to peel off. They will have to take action.  I have faith and hope that she will make a full recovery without the need of the alternative.

I am praying for a full speedy recovery, her blood circulation is much improved and the blackness on her toes go away naturally without my mum suffering any more pain. I hope you join me.

Sorry

Thank you for all your lovely comments. It just goes to prove that crafty folk are the best folk around. I used to have time to blog, catch up on your blog, post my cards on docrafts, leave comments on their cards there. Exercise, eat well, and make cards. Now I can manage none of them.

Things have not yet much improved, I thought the break would help and it has. My mum is currently in hospital, so sending lots of love hugs and prayers to her. So hopefully soon, things will look up for me.

News...

I have every intention to post, but life as a funny way of getting in the way. My life is really busy at the moment and will continue to be so into the near future. Whilst I try to get myself organised, I will try and continue posting as much as I can and carry on trying to digest lifes obstacles, bad news, I will do my best in between to carry on posting as and when I can.

In the meanwhile, I will not be doing my Me To You Saturdays, Forever Friends Sunday or Penny Black Mondays until I am able to do. I used to be making 12 cards easily in a week. At the moment, I am lucky if I am able to make one.

WOYWW 141

Hi there, it's been a long while since I have participated in WOYWW and I have missed it. I have not just had the time to join in. So I have returned for this week. Not sure, how many weeks I will be doing this, but I will try more often from now to join in. It was sure fun having a noise at other peoples blog.

The first pic is my actual workspace. As you can see i have done some Card Patchwork and zig zag stitching. These I will be using for the weekend for Me To You and Forever Friends Cards. The only thing left to decide is which image I will use out of the many I already own!

As you can see I have a distress ink on my desktop with an applicator. I have since last spoken to you all, fallen in love with these. I have used it to do the sky in the digi image, which is my new love digi images. No stamping, no ink pads, no mess and no storage issues. This one is called Pickalillie, and I got mine from here

The second picture I just wanted to show my collection of Distress Ink Pads, i have more which I can no longer fit on this shelf so I have to think of a new storage solution - any ideas?

Catch up with you soon, I will try to get around to as many blogs as I can. Take Care folks.

Penny Black Monday Week 25

Hi guys, welcome to Week 25 of Penny Black Mondays. A quarter of a century, wow. If you are like me and have unused stamps that you wish to use and get your moneys worth. Feel free to join me, and leave me a message. I will link back to your blog.

This weeks card, although looks simple took a lot of effort. Each heart has been 3d with use of Creative Expressions Pearlescent PVA Glue, then 3D Glossy Accents on top to make them pop! I really enjoyed this card, and inspiration came from the Design Team, in particular Jill. I hope she likes this card to.

I have been a really bad blogger, I planned to get to all of your lovely blogs last week, but orders took up my time. After finishing a days work at the office, then doing a days work at home, and then orders I was so tired to make a card for me or blog. But hopefully things are back to normal this week.

I would like to enter this card into:
Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Love & Kisses

No Forever Friends Sunday or Me To You Saturday This Week

Hi there, this week there will be no Me To You Saturday or Forever Friends Sunday, I have been really busy with Ebay and keeping up with orders, I have not had much time for anything else. When I have been finished with orders, i have no energy for anything else. One morning, I completely forgot to have breakfast and only realised later when I felt so light headed and sick.

There will be a Penny Black Monday tomorrow, stay tuned, and business will be returned to normal next week.

Me To You Saturdays Week 26

Just discovered today that my local craft shop, Kims Craft is closing its branch in Hinckley at the end of May. It came with shock, they are doing well but some dispute with the landlord and the lease. Which is an awful shame, I thoroughly enjoyed demonstrating for the shop.

Welcome to week 26 of my Me To You Saturdays. I hope you enjoy this, it is a very short post and another candle from me. I hope you enjoy. Sorry for the quality of the pic, it was taken in a rush and I no longer have the candle to retake another pic.

Odds & Soxlets

Hi all, there is a new collection over at Odds & Soxlets called Lilliana & Pickalillie. They are so adorable, and I love them. I have created some cards with them. I hope you like them as much as I do. Click here to view the digi stamps in detail. I think they are so innovative and on trend. Whilst you are over there, do go and visit the blog to collect the free dinkie dollie digi.

I downloaded the image, and resized it to fit an A6 Card blank. I coloured the image and then layered the image to white card, then a pastel yellow card. I then put the image panel to one side.

I put through a piece of cardstock smaller than the size of an A6 card blank through a crafts too embossing folder. I then sanded it to reveal the white core, and used the dust buddy to remove debris from the sanding. I then wrapped some twine around the bottom of the card, created a bow and sticked this bow down with glossy accents. I adhered this panel to the front of an A6 Card blank. I then glued down the image panel to the front of the card.

Penny Black Monday Week 23

Hi there, another late post from me. I have felt so sleepy all day even though I have been sleeping well. Recently I have found that if I wake up by myself in the morning, I am wide awake and alert. However, if I am woken by the alarm clock - then I am light headed, and tired all day. So tomorrow I hope that I wake up by myself. Or maybe I should have one early night so that I have one long good night sleep!

Before I show todays card, I am super excited about the new release from Penny Black for London 2012 collection. They have arrived at the glitterpot, I am so tempted and naughty me gave in to temptation.

On to todays card which I would like to show you using Teddy and Company Stamp set.

Forever Friends Week 44

Thank you for still popping by my blog, and again another late night post from me. I won't make any excuses (although spent time this afternoon ebay watching - put few things on for sale so was watching those, then addressing the envelopes).

I am slowly getting into designing my own cards, and I am not sure what I think of the pastel card inspired by Jenny from Stamps, Pencil and Paper. Anyhows, it has made it on to todays card.

After I reach week 52, I think I may retire the Forever Friends Sunday and as I am struggling to find inspiration for these cute cuddly bears and do not think that I do them justice. At the moment, all I want to do is play with my distress inks and Penny Black stamps! So maybe not retire, but may take a break.

Me To You Saturdays Week 25

Did you think I forgot! lol, I had not forgot. It has just been mission impossible to get to my desk today and create this card, ideally I normally create the card in advance.

When I finished my card, I then went to grab my camera out of my handbag to take a picture and grabbed my wallet instead. I ended up laughing to myself. I had to improvise in my background, as I normally clear the desk once a week to take pics of my cards, however this time as I only needed to take a pic of one card I did not want to make that effort! My excuse, i am tired and it is so late.

When I was making this card, I started yawning, not because I was bored, but because I was so tired, and still am, and feeling so sleepy, after a very long day up the M6 and M1, so that reduced any brain power I had on this card. Anyway, enough of my waffling, if anything made sense in that! Here is my card for today.

Odds & Soxlets

Its been a while, since I have shown any creations for Odds & Soxlets Collection post. Please accept my apologies.

I needed a break from all things craft and in life in general. I have not crafted in a while, but kept my blog active and keep posting cards I made a while ago and never made it to this blog. But I am now getting back into the swing of things.

I am really enjoying card making again. Its not how many I can make in a day to sell, but just to enjoy the whole card making process from start to finish. Also, I am getting wise with my money and no longer feel the need to buy everything new. Simply because I have so many stuff unused.

I may enjoy my friend over at her Wishcraft blog, on her waste not wednesdays. Where you share a card for fun, using an item out of your stash that has not been used, a stamp or paper! Which is what I have been trying to do with my Forever Friends, Me To You and Penny Black days. However I have been focusing on brands. The Waste Not Wednesdays is a great idea, as I have other brand stamps that I have not used and will find myself participating in this.

I wanted to quickly come online here and tell you about the new free digi over at Odds & Soxlets. It is so adorable. Also, scroll to the bottom and you will see two new digi stamps. They are called Lilliana & Pickalillie. They are gorgeous, and to be honest the two new digi stamps got my creative juices flowing again. Also got my crafting bug back, where I do want to spend money! I coudn't resist them as soon as I saw them. Pop on over and have a look. I will be back shortly with a couple of cards I have made with this new range. However digi stamps take up no room in your craft room, and you can print as many as you need. No inking, just simply print! And it is so affordable. You are not stuck with a whole stamp set, where you will perhaps only use a stamp or two out of the set. Simply select what you want, and thats it.

Penny Black Monday Week 21

Here is week 21 of my Penny Black Mondays. The post is late today, I had lots of things to do first thing this morning and ran out of time this morning.

This week uses vellum. By the time this card was finished and passed to the recipient, I had added glitter around the edges to hide the double sided tape. I really enjoyed making this card, when I was asked to make this card I wasn't sure of the end result. I got out all my love stamps and all my loved papers, and came out with this design.

I would like to add this card into the following challenges:

Forever Friends Week 42

Good Morning, Just finished cleaning the house from top to bottom, and now ready for a shower. Then a stroll in the park.

Before I get on to today's card, I have put some items for sale that were bought with good intention to use, but have not been used, and are looking for a new home. I am selling them for a lot cheaper than retail price. If they sell, I get more money to spend on some crafty stuff. A girl can never have too much. Click here to view all my sale items. Items for sale are not craft related:
X BoX with Kinect
Recipe Books

If you think someone else may like it, I would appreciate it if you are able to spread the word. If you do, leave me comment and I will draw a winner out of a hat to win a small prize.

I spent time looking over the year at cards that have sold out of my basket. Although I have sold a fair few items out of each range. However the most popular have been any floral cards or cards using the Tatty Teddy range. So that is where I will be concentrating my efforts onto this year.

Today's card is still another Christmas card, one less to make for Christmas this year. Again it is using the Forever Friends A Christmas Tale Decoupage Pack. I have made so many cards using this cute range and yet there is so much left.

Creative Expressions

Crikey, its 2012 already. How are you sticking to your new years resolutions?

I tried catching up on your blogs this morning, but blogger was not playing nice. Every time i clicked on the comments to leave a comment, the page would not scroll to allow me to do so. I am running out of time now, i need to get out of the door to work. So will try later again today. I am stilll feeling quiet poorly, but a lot better than I was earlier in the week.

A quick post from me today, again this is Sue Wilson inspired, and a version of her card, but a much smaller version and again using products I have in my stash and this is using a Polka Dot Embossing Folder.

Looking at this card, it has reminded me of Sue Wilsons shaving foam technique! Lol, I still want to give that one a try. Shaving foam, Adirondack inks. Tray, paper. Lets have some fun and create a mess. I dont often use two different colour ribbons on one card, but I do like the look on this one. I dont think I used two ribbons again, must be too economical, lol!

Forever Friends Sunday Week 41

Forever Friends Sunday Week 41, just made it here in time to relax and make this post. Wow, what a busy day today. Got up, made breakfast for mum, on the wii for half an hour. Had breakfast, mopped the kitchen floor. Had a shower, then to the shops to grab a couple of key ingredients for a new recipe I tried today. And since I made it all by myself, I must say I am quiet proud of me.

Anyways, onto todays card. Still a Christmas card, I am afraid. Why not go with the flow whilst all the ideas are there? That way, at least I will use up my existing stash to make room for next years stash! Shhh.. don't tell anyone, don't think they will be pleased. I have officially ran out of space in my draws, and things are everywhere now. So need to be serious about using up my stash, might try the thing in which my friend did, ban herself from buying any paper for over a year. And it worked for her.

Me To You Saturdays Week 22

Hello, I can not say thank you enough for all the lovely support and comments you leave me. It does mean so much.

Another late post from me, because I thought I had posted todays card, but I had not! Oh dear or dear me...Whoops. Todays card is a commissioned card I made before Christmas using my CD Rom. I thoroughly enjoyed making this card and using silver mirror card, instead of grey card. I had not thought of silver mirror card until I saw Nancy demonstrate this on TV with the decoupage packs. I hope you like.

Also, this card is an A5 card size. I have recently taken a liking to cards of this size and they seem to be popular for me at fairs.

Thank you...

I just wanted to make a short post to say, thank you to everyone for all their kind words and leaving me such encouraging and supportive comments. You are all so kind and so nice, crafting world is filled and blessed with such amazing talented people. Thank you for popping onto my blog out of so many. Much appreciate it folks

I continued to craft, as I felt I had nothing else. My work, gave me great pleasure.

One news I did leave out of yesterdays post was that in the late part of 2011, but thinking about it I should share my experience as it may save someone else's life. When I thought things could not get worse, my cousin was diagnosed with a brain tumour. She is undergoing treatment, and has been such a fighter. You would not know looking at her, she has this awful disease.  I am really proud of her, she has been really positive. If you have time and are able to, do support Macmillan Cancer Charity.

I just would like to emphasise to you all, if you have regular headaches and the doctor diagnoses migraines. Please do keep persistent with the doctors, and even if the tablets do work, and you feel better. Do not take any risks - get at least an x ray and a MRI scan done. Lie to the doctor if you need to. This will most likely reveal nothing, be safe. Rather than leaving it too late. Cancer is a nasty disease, the sooner it is caught the better.  The sooner it is caught the better.

A Year In Cards

2012 is here, and the annual post of a Year in Cards I am making. Although a lot later, than some of the others that have gone around the blog.

This is a card heavy post.

Confession time... I hid this from all of you.

The year gone has been of many lows. My mums health, and after a very short run I had no choice but to end my marriage. I tried to make it work, but it takes two to tango as they say. I was not being treated right or being respected. I gave him space and time to change, but he carried on. He did not show to me, even by 1% that he was changing or had any intention to change. I am going through such a difficult time personally, with divorce and being at work full time then coming home and taking care of my mum. That is all I wish to say on the topic.

2011, also the year where I broke the bone in my foot. And so i had to find something to do that I could do in Bed to pass all that time. I started to work from home. Which was very difficult.

So for my year in cards, there are times when there is not much to choose from, and times where there is so much to choose from.
