WOYWW 141

Hi there, it's been a long while since I have participated in WOYWW and I have missed it. I have not just had the time to join in. So I have returned for this week. Not sure, how many weeks I will be doing this, but I will try more often from now to join in. It was sure fun having a noise at other peoples blog.

The first pic is my actual workspace. As you can see i have done some Card Patchwork and zig zag stitching. These I will be using for the weekend for Me To You and Forever Friends Cards. The only thing left to decide is which image I will use out of the many I already own!

As you can see I have a distress ink on my desktop with an applicator. I have since last spoken to you all, fallen in love with these. I have used it to do the sky in the digi image, which is my new love digi images. No stamping, no ink pads, no mess and no storage issues. This one is called Pickalillie, and I got mine from here

The second picture I just wanted to show my collection of Distress Ink Pads, i have more which I can no longer fit on this shelf so I have to think of a new storage solution - any ideas?

Catch up with you soon, I will try to get around to as many blogs as I can. Take Care folks.

My Distress pads started off like yours but now reside in two boxes - not ideal but a bit more to hand for me. Sorry I have no solution!
Nice to have you back with us on WOYWW and hope you can stay a while.
Don't forget to call in if you haven't already and check out my blog candy - it closes late tonight and I should be drawing tomorrow. Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Neet 29

My DIs are in a large tin so otherwise I've no great ideas but I would add that you should add the colour of each on the labels... must easier to locate which is needed.
Thanks for visiting,

I bought a small crate to store my pads in and so far it is working well! Hope you have a great week and thanks for sharing. Don't forget my blog candy is still up for grabs so drop by and leave a comment and make sure you are a follower. Vickie #64

You have so many inks, I think you might need a huge set of shelves just for them.
The ink with applicator looks like a good idea.
Have a great week.

Now that is a nice collection of DI. I have them in a plastic draw which I just pull out and keep on my desk when working on a project.

Busy desk filled with beautiful patchwork cards. And the distress problem...I stored mine in a wooden Ikea box with different drawers. For me it works perfect but you need to store this box, so if this solve your problem...
Thanks for sharing and a happy WOYWW. Bye, Franka

My distress inks are treasured and usually in heaps on my desk, as soon as I put them away I need them! Hugstrace x

My, that is a lot of inks. Wouldn't they fit in one of those old cassette tape holders? Just an idea.

Gabrielle said...

Oh! I heart DIs! Mine are in a wooden IKEA box which I've covered the front of the drawers in the corresponding colour (if you have 5 mins to pop back to my blog you see them peeping out at the end of my desk!). Thanks for sharing today - happy Wednesday x

I have a large decorative tin on my desk that I keep my inks in, I have about the same number as you. And as you have seen, I keep my Memento and Versamagic inks in old pasta jars! Nice to see you back on WOYWW again.

My inks are grouped by colors and rubber banded together, and stored in a box. When I need a color, then I just reach in and grab that group out. enjoyed peeking in on your desk and waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)

I keep my DIs in long Really Useful boxes - each box takes four in a row and houses three deep. Love the digi image you're working on (Hazel, WOYW #138) x

I just love your digital stamp! I am getting into them recently too, and I just love them!

Thank you for stopping by my blog! It seems I was not the only person with this issue. I wish they would've just called and told us what was happening instead of lying and saying the flowers were delivered!

Happy WOYWW!

My distress inks live on a tray next to where I work (on the floor) and as I use them all the time they never have to be put away!
You asked about something I bought on Sunday - no embossing folders, loads of stencils and some dies, think they may be what you meant.

Shoshi said...

Lovely patchwork pieces! I've got all the DI pads now. I have a little shelf at the back of my desk which I can store things on, and under. My DIs are stored like yours, but in several piles side by side, grouped according to colour. I agree with Jo that putting the respective colour on the label does help you find the one you want. I don't store them in a box because I use them all the time. If I did Desert Island Crafting Supplies, DIs would probably be the one I couldn't do without lol! I used to use the Tim Holtz applicator, but now much prefer Inkylicious Ink Dusters - the very best applicators for blending and ease of use that I have ever come across. I've done a video tutorial on them - see my blog and Youtube.

Thanks for hopping over to my blog. I agree, embossed mirror card is great - lovely play of light. I adore reflective surfaces and how they react with each other.

Ooh, I love the soft greys on that patchwork card and the stitching sets it off a treat! Very nice indeed :)

My storage solution for you for distress ink pads: Send them all to me so you won't have to worry about where to put them. I guess that won't help my storage issues though. Have fun playing and happy WOYWW!

Glad you joined in this week. Lots to snoop but can't help with storage - I have 1 distress stamp!!!

I store my ink pads in an old pine cassette tape holder, it's easier to grab the one you want when they're not stacked up.

Love your image it's so CUTE!!!
But for your storage problem I'm afraid your on your own... Storage is the worst thing for us crafters... the boxs that are sold are either to small, to big, not deep enough or to deep, with covered bottoms,or just to much Money! etc. etc. etc....That's why my place alwasys looks like a hodg podgs...If you find something let us all know, Please!!!

Lisa-Jane said...

I take mine with me so I have a row of them on their side in my bag. Its quite a long row... I've not used digi stamps as yet but I love the look of yours there.

I am unlucky in that my ink pads all fit comfortably on one shelf. As you might gather from that, I don't have very many yet, so I cannot really suggest any useful storage at the moment. Have a look at an earlier post of Shaz Silverwolf. she has loads but I cannot remember offhand how she copes with the storage. Thank you for giving me your idea about what to do with the card. I am still wavering so watch this space. Have a good week. xx Maggie #100

Yes, I have a great idea on storing your ink pads, just store them over at my place! LOL
I don't have that many so I have them stored in shallow pull out drawers.

No, you can never have too many distress ink pads. I store mine in a spinning rack on my paper rack. dani28

Great to see you back, I also hate missing woyww. Lots of yumminess all over your desk, love all the colourful inks. I have got mine on a shelve that I got (forgot where) that holds inkpads, but I have seen a special one for around £25 in a craft magazine I read a few days ago which was a folding small cupboard like wooden box that opens and fits all your distress inkpads in. Hope that helps, happy woyww :-) Kezzy x

Pretty coloring on your digi image. I don't have a storage solution for you, sorry. I keep my inks in a drawer but I'm hoping one day to find something better.

Distress Inks and Memento Inks are two of my favorite sorts of inks. I was pleased as punch to find Memento Markers to match the ink pads. I stack my Distress Inks on my turntable. The Memento inks I keep in a cloth basket/drawer. Good to see you back :D. #27

Howdy,
I bought a rolling cart from Joanns (with a coupon) - that has 6 skinny drawers and 3 fat drawers. Put my stamp pads and stamps in these. LOVE them - because they roll and fit well under tables and desks. Can't believe how must they store! Bought 2 more!

Howdy,
I'm under the weather this week for WOYWW - I'm just popping by for a quick peek.

Would love for you to stop by my blog when you have a moment or 2!

My Distress Inks are in a little crate but it is not the best solution because sometimes I have to look thru quite a few to find the right one. I have seen a lot of people store them in old cassette tape shelves/holders and it looks like they fit well.
Your desk looks very nice and neat and such pretty colours!

Welcome back again Sarpreet!

My DIs are in the drawers you seen on my blog, but they're soon going to get an upgrade to my desk! I'm going to create my own shelving I think, using foam core board.

You have a great selection of ink pads. I store my distress inks in 2 shoe boxes. I've also coloured the labels I've added to the side of my inkpads so I can see the one I want at a glance - and numbered them which correspond with my numbered applicators so I don't get them mixed up!
Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Hello!

I also love digital images and only purchase a stamp now if it isn't available in digital. In addition to what you have listed, with the digital images one can change the size, turn them, merge them, etc. and the cost is so minimal compared to that of a stamp. Wishing you a happy weekend!

Hugs,

Barbara Diane

Your image is so nice!

I don't know any great ideas for the inky storage. I have mine in some 12 x 12 iris carts that i bought at Michaels with a 50% off coupon. Sadly, they are all jumbled in there and I have to pick thru them to find anything.

I have struggled with storage also, just have them in a plastic basket right now. Saw Tim came out with a suitcase/tackle box type thing for storage, has a video on his blog, but seemed pricey. My Stampin up one is great for Su pads, and some others fit on that, but there never are enough storage solutions are there? Thanks for stopping by my blog Barb #112
