My Aldi Bargain

I have recently started to do more stitching on my cards, and one of my struggles is at time is finding the right colour thread to match the paper or cards. I note that a lot of people use white on all the layers, however that does not always seem right to me. Although my mum has a huge box full of threads, it is hard at times to find certain colours i am looking for without spending more money at the local thread shop. So the other day I went to Aldi, and i found this at an amazing price of £3.50, and the little round things (no idea what they are called) as well already for you to use!

And look - it comes it its own little storage compartment. How cool is that. I know there is not a lot of thread on each one, but enough to do your cards and some of these colours you will only be able to use once! So I am happy and it is only £3.50. Did I say it was only £3.50?

Creative Expression Demo Card

I would usually make this post on a Friday, but tomorrow is the wedding of Prince William and Kate. So I have decided to make this post a day earlier.

Here is my final Demonstration card that I made for Creative Expressions Demo I did last year. For the demonstration I used the Animal Safari and Jungle Friend Stamp Set. The Sentiment was hand written. My first attempts at distressing - you can see I kept that to a minimal amount! I do like this card - even it is a year on!

To view all my other Demo cards, and other cards using products from Creative Expressions, click here

That is all for now for my Creative Expressions = non Christmas cards wise. I will show the Christmas Card Demo Samples using Creative Expressions later on in the year. Next Week I will start posting again on the Friday and will show my remaining Penny Black Samples. Being a year ago - I will sure have to dig out the Penny Black Stamp Sets to find out which sets I used! O dear... What Have i got myself into?

WOYWW

Welcome to another crazy WOYWW with our host Julia. To join in the fun, click here

Since my last participation in WOYWW, I have started selling cards on Ebay after seeing so many people doing this and being successful. My cards will probably not sell for much, but as long as they are selling I am happy. To view my cards on Ebay click here

I have also started a shop on Folksy, not sure which was best Folksy or Etsy, or both, but for the time being my cards are on Folksy, here. I now just need to get to craft fairs and do some advertising for my shops and hopefully business will pick up. If you are on Folksy, add me to your favourites - and I can come and look in your shop and favourite you as well.

If you know anyone who would be interested in my shops - do pass on the word.

I have gained in a few followers - thank you for all those from WOYWW for joining me, I much appreciate it. If I have not followed you in the same, it is probably I could not find a link to your blog. Please leave me a link to my blog and I will come and follow you. If you would like to follow my blog, do join in and I will come and visit your blog and follow your blog as well.

I am also considering launching a Forever Friend Sunday, to help us crafters get most of their Forever Friends goodies. If you are interested please leave a comment in this post here

To celebrate the launch of my shop, and my blog, my wedding. I will be launching blog candy on 1st May. It will be a big candy. Come back soon to find out more and to participate.

Now, for what you have all come over to see. Here is a picture of my messy desk. I have finished one card, ready to be photographed for my shop and taken to work. And I am working on another card, using free download papers in Creativity Club over at docrafts. Also, for previous cards, you can see a list of products i used, I make a list of items used and when sold, i can see if I have gained my money worth from my stamps.
Some double sided tape. Some blue card stitched on the sewing machine - experimenting at the moment. And a Forever Friend Decoupage from the Retro collection which has now dried hopefully!
P.S. Sorry for the long post!

Forever Friend Sunday

Happy Easter to everyone

Hi all, I am certainly doing well in keeping up with the Forever Friend Sunday. I am thinking of maybe for fun starting a competition, just drop a link to a NEW Forever Friend card and I will randomly pick a winner once every month. My cards will not have rules or themes, it will be open. So you could come up with absolutely anything you like as long as it is a new creation or theme. What do you think? This way I know a lot of you have Forever Friends stamp that are perhaps gathering dust and you will be able to get use out of your stamps. Spread the word about a Forever Friend Sunday... and let's see what happens.

Here is a card I made a long time ago, using an idea that Julie's Inkspot had. Clean and Simple, and easy to create in batches.

The sentiment Best Wishes is from a Penny Black stamp set, I really can not remember which stamp set I used. Sorry. Will see if I can dig that out later.

Adhesive Gems

EDIT: If you are interested in a Forever Friend Sunday Competition on a Monthly Basis, please leave a comment and I will see what I can do. Post about it on your blog, if you can (thank you to those who are) and see what happens

Forever Friends Sunday

I am certainly doing well, in keeping up this Forever Friend Sunday. I am going to keep trying. I dont know how long though I will manage to keep it up though. But I have all the stamps, papers, CD's and definitely need to use more of it!

This card i made is using a layout and papers I liked a while ago - but I do not know what I think of this card now. This card is missing something to me. Although the card quickly sold out from my box. Maybe I kept it a bit too clean and simple and did not add the glam to it.

Thank you

Thank you for all the Get Well Wishes, It has been very much appreciated. The pain and discomfort is there, hence I am on four sets of tablets at the moment. I am waiting for a hospital appointment for a scan to find out more. Considering how much pain I am in - it is not a priority I could still be waiting four weeks for this scan better than the 10 - even though it has been marked as urgent....

I will surely but slowly be getting to all your blogs. I however took this downtime to get my Folksy Shop set up and going, as times are hard. If you are interested in my cards and purchasing them. Please click here.

Once I get myself into gear, I will offer Blog candy to get this promoted as much as possible. Please spread the word if you can, I would much appreciate it.

Forever Friends Sunday

Hey I am doing good about this Sunday, two weeks on a trot! This is another card I have made using the Forever Friends Black and Gold CD Rom. I did not cheat, i printed off two separate papers and did the actual matting layering, otherwise it did not look genuine to me. Everything on this card is from the cd rom, apart from the ribbon, gems, and glossy accents i used on the main image.

For those who missed out, exclusive to Hobbycraft they have done a range of papers, stamps, decoupage kits of this Black and Gold range. They are great and I have been itching to play. Maybe for next weeks card.

Not Well...

Just a quick update from me, Sarpreet's mum. Since Monday night, Sarpreet has not been very well. She has suffered really bad pains in her stomach, and it has come with vomiting and really bad diarrhoea. She has been pretty much in bed since. Will be taking her to the hospital later today for more tests.

Sarpreet has some scheduled posts to go up over the next few days. And hopes to be back soon and visiting all your blogs.
