Odds & Soxlets

Hi all, there is a new collection over at Odds & Soxlets called Lilliana & Pickalillie. They are so adorable, and I love them. I have created some cards with them. I hope you like them as much as I do. Click here to view the digi stamps in detail. I think they are so innovative and on trend. Whilst you are over there, do go and visit the blog to collect the free dinkie dollie digi.

I downloaded the image, and resized it to fit an A6 Card blank. I coloured the image and then layered the image to white card, then a pastel yellow card. I then put the image panel to one side.

I put through a piece of cardstock smaller than the size of an A6 card blank through a crafts too embossing folder. I then sanded it to reveal the white core, and used the dust buddy to remove debris from the sanding. I then wrapped some twine around the bottom of the card, created a bow and sticked this bow down with glossy accents. I adhered this panel to the front of an A6 Card blank. I then glued down the image panel to the front of the card.

Penny Black Monday Week 23

Hi there, another late post from me. I have felt so sleepy all day even though I have been sleeping well. Recently I have found that if I wake up by myself in the morning, I am wide awake and alert. However, if I am woken by the alarm clock - then I am light headed, and tired all day. So tomorrow I hope that I wake up by myself. Or maybe I should have one early night so that I have one long good night sleep!

Before I show todays card, I am super excited about the new release from Penny Black for London 2012 collection. They have arrived at the glitterpot, I am so tempted and naughty me gave in to temptation.

On to todays card which I would like to show you using Teddy and Company Stamp set.

Forever Friends Week 44

Thank you for still popping by my blog, and again another late night post from me. I won't make any excuses (although spent time this afternoon ebay watching - put few things on for sale so was watching those, then addressing the envelopes).

I am slowly getting into designing my own cards, and I am not sure what I think of the pastel card inspired by Jenny from Stamps, Pencil and Paper. Anyhows, it has made it on to todays card.

After I reach week 52, I think I may retire the Forever Friends Sunday and as I am struggling to find inspiration for these cute cuddly bears and do not think that I do them justice. At the moment, all I want to do is play with my distress inks and Penny Black stamps! So maybe not retire, but may take a break.

Me To You Saturdays Week 25

Did you think I forgot! lol, I had not forgot. It has just been mission impossible to get to my desk today and create this card, ideally I normally create the card in advance.

When I finished my card, I then went to grab my camera out of my handbag to take a picture and grabbed my wallet instead. I ended up laughing to myself. I had to improvise in my background, as I normally clear the desk once a week to take pics of my cards, however this time as I only needed to take a pic of one card I did not want to make that effort! My excuse, i am tired and it is so late.

When I was making this card, I started yawning, not because I was bored, but because I was so tired, and still am, and feeling so sleepy, after a very long day up the M6 and M1, so that reduced any brain power I had on this card. Anyway, enough of my waffling, if anything made sense in that! Here is my card for today.

Odds & Soxlets

Its been a while, since I have shown any creations for Odds & Soxlets Collection post. Please accept my apologies.

I needed a break from all things craft and in life in general. I have not crafted in a while, but kept my blog active and keep posting cards I made a while ago and never made it to this blog. But I am now getting back into the swing of things.

I am really enjoying card making again. Its not how many I can make in a day to sell, but just to enjoy the whole card making process from start to finish. Also, I am getting wise with my money and no longer feel the need to buy everything new. Simply because I have so many stuff unused.

I may enjoy my friend over at her Wishcraft blog, on her waste not wednesdays. Where you share a card for fun, using an item out of your stash that has not been used, a stamp or paper! Which is what I have been trying to do with my Forever Friends, Me To You and Penny Black days. However I have been focusing on brands. The Waste Not Wednesdays is a great idea, as I have other brand stamps that I have not used and will find myself participating in this.

I wanted to quickly come online here and tell you about the new free digi over at Odds & Soxlets. It is so adorable. Also, scroll to the bottom and you will see two new digi stamps. They are called Lilliana & Pickalillie. They are gorgeous, and to be honest the two new digi stamps got my creative juices flowing again. Also got my crafting bug back, where I do want to spend money! I coudn't resist them as soon as I saw them. Pop on over and have a look. I will be back shortly with a couple of cards I have made with this new range. However digi stamps take up no room in your craft room, and you can print as many as you need. No inking, just simply print! And it is so affordable. You are not stuck with a whole stamp set, where you will perhaps only use a stamp or two out of the set. Simply select what you want, and thats it.

Penny Black Monday Week 21

Here is week 21 of my Penny Black Mondays. The post is late today, I had lots of things to do first thing this morning and ran out of time this morning.

This week uses vellum. By the time this card was finished and passed to the recipient, I had added glitter around the edges to hide the double sided tape. I really enjoyed making this card, when I was asked to make this card I wasn't sure of the end result. I got out all my love stamps and all my loved papers, and came out with this design.

I would like to add this card into the following challenges:

Forever Friends Week 42

Good Morning, Just finished cleaning the house from top to bottom, and now ready for a shower. Then a stroll in the park.

Before I get on to today's card, I have put some items for sale that were bought with good intention to use, but have not been used, and are looking for a new home. I am selling them for a lot cheaper than retail price. If they sell, I get more money to spend on some crafty stuff. A girl can never have too much. Click here to view all my sale items. Items for sale are not craft related:
X BoX with Kinect
Recipe Books

If you think someone else may like it, I would appreciate it if you are able to spread the word. If you do, leave me comment and I will draw a winner out of a hat to win a small prize.

I spent time looking over the year at cards that have sold out of my basket. Although I have sold a fair few items out of each range. However the most popular have been any floral cards or cards using the Tatty Teddy range. So that is where I will be concentrating my efforts onto this year.

Today's card is still another Christmas card, one less to make for Christmas this year. Again it is using the Forever Friends A Christmas Tale Decoupage Pack. I have made so many cards using this cute range and yet there is so much left.

Creative Expressions

Crikey, its 2012 already. How are you sticking to your new years resolutions?

I tried catching up on your blogs this morning, but blogger was not playing nice. Every time i clicked on the comments to leave a comment, the page would not scroll to allow me to do so. I am running out of time now, i need to get out of the door to work. So will try later again today. I am stilll feeling quiet poorly, but a lot better than I was earlier in the week.

A quick post from me today, again this is Sue Wilson inspired, and a version of her card, but a much smaller version and again using products I have in my stash and this is using a Polka Dot Embossing Folder.

Looking at this card, it has reminded me of Sue Wilsons shaving foam technique! Lol, I still want to give that one a try. Shaving foam, Adirondack inks. Tray, paper. Lets have some fun and create a mess. I dont often use two different colour ribbons on one card, but I do like the look on this one. I dont think I used two ribbons again, must be too economical, lol!

Forever Friends Sunday Week 41

Forever Friends Sunday Week 41, just made it here in time to relax and make this post. Wow, what a busy day today. Got up, made breakfast for mum, on the wii for half an hour. Had breakfast, mopped the kitchen floor. Had a shower, then to the shops to grab a couple of key ingredients for a new recipe I tried today. And since I made it all by myself, I must say I am quiet proud of me.

Anyways, onto todays card. Still a Christmas card, I am afraid. Why not go with the flow whilst all the ideas are there? That way, at least I will use up my existing stash to make room for next years stash! Shhh.. don't tell anyone, don't think they will be pleased. I have officially ran out of space in my draws, and things are everywhere now. So need to be serious about using up my stash, might try the thing in which my friend did, ban herself from buying any paper for over a year. And it worked for her.

Me To You Saturdays Week 22

Hello, I can not say thank you enough for all the lovely support and comments you leave me. It does mean so much.

Another late post from me, because I thought I had posted todays card, but I had not! Oh dear or dear me...Whoops. Todays card is a commissioned card I made before Christmas using my CD Rom. I thoroughly enjoyed making this card and using silver mirror card, instead of grey card. I had not thought of silver mirror card until I saw Nancy demonstrate this on TV with the decoupage packs. I hope you like.

Also, this card is an A5 card size. I have recently taken a liking to cards of this size and they seem to be popular for me at fairs.

Thank you...

I just wanted to make a short post to say, thank you to everyone for all their kind words and leaving me such encouraging and supportive comments. You are all so kind and so nice, crafting world is filled and blessed with such amazing talented people. Thank you for popping onto my blog out of so many. Much appreciate it folks

I continued to craft, as I felt I had nothing else. My work, gave me great pleasure.

One news I did leave out of yesterdays post was that in the late part of 2011, but thinking about it I should share my experience as it may save someone else's life. When I thought things could not get worse, my cousin was diagnosed with a brain tumour. She is undergoing treatment, and has been such a fighter. You would not know looking at her, she has this awful disease.  I am really proud of her, she has been really positive. If you have time and are able to, do support Macmillan Cancer Charity.

I just would like to emphasise to you all, if you have regular headaches and the doctor diagnoses migraines. Please do keep persistent with the doctors, and even if the tablets do work, and you feel better. Do not take any risks - get at least an x ray and a MRI scan done. Lie to the doctor if you need to. This will most likely reveal nothing, be safe. Rather than leaving it too late. Cancer is a nasty disease, the sooner it is caught the better.  The sooner it is caught the better.

A Year In Cards

2012 is here, and the annual post of a Year in Cards I am making. Although a lot later, than some of the others that have gone around the blog.

This is a card heavy post.

Confession time... I hid this from all of you.

The year gone has been of many lows. My mums health, and after a very short run I had no choice but to end my marriage. I tried to make it work, but it takes two to tango as they say. I was not being treated right or being respected. I gave him space and time to change, but he carried on. He did not show to me, even by 1% that he was changing or had any intention to change. I am going through such a difficult time personally, with divorce and being at work full time then coming home and taking care of my mum. That is all I wish to say on the topic.

2011, also the year where I broke the bone in my foot. And so i had to find something to do that I could do in Bed to pass all that time. I started to work from home. Which was very difficult.

So for my year in cards, there are times when there is not much to choose from, and times where there is so much to choose from.

Penny Black Monday Week 19

Hi, and welcome to a late post from me again. I had a lovely Bank Holiday out watching an Asian film with two very very very very HOT super fit guys on a large screen, lovely jubbly. So I have been slightly distracted.

But here is my Penny Black Creation, a Bookmark Corner. I started these Penny Black Mondays, to get more use of my Penny Black stamps, a lot of them have not seen ink and I have so many. 2012 - will be a year where I will not be spending a lot, as I have had to tighten my budget with other expenses, and I already have so much and no room to put in new stuff. So must use up my old stuff especially the papers. Sounds familiar? Then if you have the time, feel free to come and join me. Leave me a comment and I will love to see your creation and link you in this post (all I ask in return is that you link me)
