Me To You Saturdays Week 21

This post is scheduled, as today I really want to enjoy myself and see if I can stay up until midnight.

This card was inspired by Leonie from Create and Craft. I liked how she teamed up the papers, and off centered the main topper. I have added the white gems and the At Christmas Have Fun. It was a quick card, and I really enjoyed making it. I hope you have enjoyed seeing all my me to you cards, I have really enjoyed showing them to you all. Whilst I write out this post, I just realised I would love this one in Pink!!!! That may be next weeks card! Pink here I come.

Creative Expression Northpole Friends

Friends, lol, I am not sure if I would want friends of this sort. Not sure what they would be like in real life, they look great on the TV and the Happy Feet Film! I wish I could understand their language.

Looking back at this card from last year, I just started to get into Distress Inks, before that it was too grungy and not me. Then I discovered all the ways you could use them, and now I have a right collection.

I know Christmas has come and gone, but I really wanted to show the remaining cards, and not leave it until another year!

Here is another Saturday of full of these cute Me To You bears. So Sweet and look it is the Kraft card blank again! yay. The trouble is I have so many ideas in how to use them in Christmas, but need to use them up for birthday cards as well. A lovely card, and used up a lot of glitter too.

Creative Expressions

Wow! Christmas is this Sunday, where has December gone! Not long left until the new year. This card I do not take any credit whatsoever with, it is totally a version of Sue Wilson's stunning card with stuff I have in my stash. Before this card went into my basket, I put an adhesive Gem in each corner. The Punches, the embossing folders, do all the work here.

I remember making this card, even though it was a year back. because I went to punch the final corner of the card and made a mistake. A mistake, folks and not a happy accident. So I had to cut the card in half. Cut another card of the same size, emboss it again, then punch the corners. Then join it at the back with the sellotape. However, it was met with a great reaction from those who attended the demonstration and from those who worked in the shop!

Penny Black Monday Week 17

Welcome to week 17 of Penny Black Monday. I hope you can come join me and have some fun. It has been a while since I have had anybody join me on my Penny Black Monday. If you would like to use up your stash or get your money worth. Leave me a comment with a link to your post, and I will link your card in this post. And all I ask in return is that you link me in your post too.  I love Penny Black products, do come and join me for some fun if you love Penny Black or Me to You or Forever Friends products.

This year, as I have to cut drastically on my spending on my craft items. You will be seeing lot of past products being used on my cards and me making it current. I will explain another day in another post.

Todays card uses Penny Black Make A Wish Stamp set, as I said before it spent a year in my draw, then I had a fair bit of inspiration and made a few cards using this stamp set. Here is one of the cards I made.

Forever Friends Week 39

Hi, and welcome to another late Sunday post. This week from Friday afternoon I was not feeling so well. I am just beginning to feel better. I need a new TV for my bedroom, this is linked to my Wii console, and for a while my TV has been playing up. It has finally packed up. So I have decided to get a 3D TV, the next decision do I have it with full internet capability without the need of Dongle. Decisions. Decisions. And it is costing a lot of money!

On to todays card, It is again using the decoupage pack with papers and a Martha Stewart Punch. I truly enjoyed making this card during my demonstration.

Me To You Saturdays Week 19

On the TV I recently saw the toppers being used differently, rather than the standard shapes, i liked the way the card was done in cutting the shape as an angle. So I followed the idea onto this card by cutting the topper at an angle, then layered it onto patterned paper and Mirror card.

The best way I found to layer these accurately was to first cut the topper, then stick it on to the patterned paper, line up the patterened paper on the guillotine and cut it to size. Then I repeated the same for the Silver mirror card. The top and the bottom of the card with the silver, and pink lines were Papermania Metallic Markers. The Sentiment was also from the same Me To You Decoupage Collection.

The picture is not so clear, I had to take quickly a bunch of pictures and was not paying a great deal of attention to the detail. So I am not sure you can see the glitter around the topper and additional glitter on the image.

The idea of using Kraft card blanks with the embossing folder came from Leonie. I love your ideas.

Creative Expressions

I have finally gave in, and bought the new style sweet stamps from Creative Expressions. Now got to do the only bit I don't like with Creative Expressions is to mount it onto u mount foam, but at least you only have to do it the once.

Each demonstration, I normally try to do the A6 cards, since they are the most popular in my basket when it comes to selling. So I created a simple card with a simple layout, using the sentiment Joy and teaming it up with DCWV Noel Papers, and some gems in a corner to finish it off. I have recently ordered the Cosmic Shimmers Pearl PVA Glues in all those gorgeous colours. I look forward to receiving mine when finished.

Confession

Today it is confession time for me,  I have been a bad blogger again. I have still not managed to catch up on your beautiful blogs. I appreciate all the comments you are still leaving me. However, with the Christmas period and orders, and visiting friends and family, it looks like it will be Friday or Sunday, before I can start visiting your blogs. I miss all your blogs. But will be back visiting your blogs soon.

Penny Black Monday Week 16

Hi and welcome to another Penny Black Monday. Because of last nights late post, I scheduled this one in a bit later today. Wow! Little Mix won the X Factor, they have done well and you can really see their bond. I hope that they are still around and get the right records. And doing that En Vogue song, really did put them on the map for me. Congratuations.

There were so many talented people in there, and if you asked me right from the beginning I always thought one of Kelly Rowlands girl would win. There is still a bright future for so many in there. Kitty. Misha B. Janet Devlin. Marcus Collins. Sophie Habibis. Amelia Lily. Sammy. And the other male group, which I can not remember the name of.

Now to show you todays card. Here it is. It was made for the Penny Black Official Site, and one of their challenges. I did enjoy making the card. I hope you like it too. I do have so many other cards to show you from Penny Black. However, in order to post them I will have to go through all my stamps and draws to find out the names of the stamps I used. Because I can not remember!!!!!!!!

For a long while, you have been seeing cards from me using Wild Rose Studio or Me To You or Penny Black or Creative Expressions. I am going to try to change this, so you can see some variety. I hope you are not too bored! Also, I was able to use my new sewing machine on this for the zig zag stitch

A wee bit late!

I had such a busy day, catching up on household stuff, and once you have caught up with those. It aint long, before you have to do them again. Then I completely forgot. And came online to check the post, and realised I never posted it or scheduled it in the first place.

This was one of my demonstration cards to show how to make quick and easy cards for christmas using the Forever Friends A Christmas Tale Decoupage Pack. Inspiration came from the magazine.

Me To You Saturdays Week 18

I bought a few too many Kraft card blanks when they first came out, I got a bit too excited me thinks! However I have been trying really hard to try and use them all up, although I don't think I will be able to go through all my stash of Kraft card blanks anytime soon. I have chopped them up and used them as layers, and have only recently started using them for their purpose I bought them in - card blanks!!!!!!!!

This has been my favourite embossing folder from this year, the snow flurry from the Me To You Winter Wonderland Range. And such a quick card, and a great way to use up those toppers in the Decoupage pack up and all that mirror card that I have in stock! For me, as money is tighter, 2012 will certainly be the year of using up my stash  and very limited new stuff. And hopefully a lot more sales!

Creative Expression Sleigh Ride

This was another card I made last year using the Creative Expression stamp called Sleigh Ride. This is a very traditional stamp. Each year, Creative Expressions release the cutesy style and a traditional style. Last year was no exception. I think these are stunning. Here I only used a portion of the stamp for the centre and very slight use of distress inks on the edge. This was to give it a monochramatic look. Last year, looking back at my cards, I got the bug of using bows on my cards and it has stuck with me since.

Forever Friends Week 37

A week to go before the X Factor Finals.... who will be there. I know who I want to be there. Lets hope the UK supports the act that puts UK on the map, and not someone who will be forgotten in a years time as the winner. That means that Dancing On Ice, will be on next. I read in passing about a week ago, that David Beckham is being rumoured to feature on the next series of Dancing On Ice. That will be a serious I will definitely be watching.

On to this weeks card, my little pudding. Its got such a traditional feel to the card. But to be honest, I am not a fan of the Christmas pudding are you? Much prefer anything chocolate based, as long as it has not got mints in it. This was also one of my demonstration cards.

Me To You Saturday Week 17

Hey folks, its Saturday, and yes again its a Me To You Saturday. Again, I have used a Snow Flurry Embossing folder from the Me To You collection, and teamed it up with the Me To You Winter Wonderland decoupage.

I have always used 3d foam pads and glue for my decoupage as in the past when I have used silicone, i have had issues with the brand I used. However, I have recently purchased Pinflair, and will let you know how I get on with that one. What do you use and recommend?

Creative Expression Demo Card

Wow, the 1st of December. There really is not a lot of time left now before Christmas will be here. Are your Christmas decorations up? Mine will be very shortly. Time to reflect on the year that has been 2011. Time of giving. Time to appreciate what you have.

I thought I would come along and show you the remaining samples I made last year using the Creative Expressions Sleigh Ride and Northpole Friends Stamps. I still have these and will definitely be pulling these out of the draws to make a few more cards. Last year I ran out of time, before I ran out of inspiration. Thats what you have when you see Sue Wilson demonstrating stamps on TV, recently she has done all demos on Nestabilities mainly. Don't get me wrong. Those cards are stunning. Would love her to come back and do a demo where the stamps are the main feature. She had amazing techniques and ideas. Also, by watching all the shows she has done on nestabilities, it shows me how to make more use of the sentiment stamps, and that I could do with some more of those.

Penny Black Monday Week 15

This card I made a while back using a slapstick stamp from Penny Black called Hedgehog Birthday. I think it is cute and adorable. A very simple design and layout for me and use of a border punch. Oh dear, how different would I do this card, if I was to do it all over again. For one I would use a Nestability on the centre panel, decoupage a couple of elements, and the scalloped punch, would be one of my edgeabilities. And I would use promarkers to colour in the image!

But it does show how we change as crafters over time, and new things we learn or new things that arrive on the market do change us.

I still have not managed to finish of another pack of gems, although I am close on a couple, but because you get left with the odd ones, it is a bit difficult.

Here is a card I made for a card making demonstration last year using Penny Black stamps. This is using the Penny Black Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and Forever Friends Pink Parfait Papers. Forever Friends Week 35

Happy Sunday to you. Spent most of the morning cleaning and have only just had time to pop on over here and have a look

A few have recently asked me about my foot, so I thought I would give you a quick update. My foot is doing well, I am apparently showing early signs of Osteoprosis and am now given Ad-Cal tablets. Things have improved for me since taking those tablets and my local GP has finally referred me to physiotherapy. The hospital doctor who is specialist in this area, has agreed to see me in an appointment at the hospital too. So finally things are now working out. November has been a great month for me.

On to todays card, this is a version of Shielas card, with items I do have in my stash.

Me To You Saturday Week 14

Good Morning, I am here bright and early again. Sorry for the lack of posts this week, I had planned to come online and make some posts, but certain things happened that took my time away from it all. And in way, it was good to have that break.

Voting has started, giving the public a chance to put back in their person who was exited from the first week of the show by the judges. I couldnt decide between the lad, Amelia Lily or Two Shoes! I hope it is Amelia Lily, as she has the star quality and is diverse. I hope she goes back to her white hair and not her pink hair, cos to me that gave her the edge as well! I dont know why. But hey ho, will tune in to find out what happens tonight...

I am at a craft stall in Bedworth Town centre, in the Bedworth Methodist Church opposite Iceland. Come and join in and support the crafters, if you are local in the area. There are some knitwear, and other gorgeous goodies to fill up your basket with.

Here is todays card, it is an A5 card, using the Me To You Wrapped Up Stamp and papers from the Winter Wonderland Ultimate Decoupage Kit. I have recently loved doing large cards, I have always loved my A6 cards and square cards. But I don't have many A5 cards, I dont know why - they are good sellers. Final Born to Shop Demo Card

Here is my final Born to Shop card, wow! I started in July and it is November. Four months of Born to Shop cards I have been showing. With the amount I have shown, I could have done Born to Shop Fridays! The final demo card - i hear rounds of applauses, lol!  This again was inspired by the talented Clare Curd. This was not made for the demo but after the demo with the Nostalgia range. I do miss Clare's contribution to docrafts. She is on later today on Create and Craft for a Looney Tunes CD Rom Launch.

Also, have you noticed the date today - 11/11/11! ooo... I do like the little things like this.

Forever Friends Week 32

Hi there, sorry for todays late post. I have been having terrible back pains since thursday night. Thursday night, started of mild, I ignored it and went to bed. And when I woke up Friday morning, ouch! The pain was so unbearable - I could barely move. I let my manager know, that I either won't be in or be in later and work til later. Once the painkillers and the cream did their magic - I was good enough to go, but very worried as where I was demonstrating the day after and it had been advertised so I could not pull out. As I had committed to it.

So before I got there, I stuffed my face with junk food ( A yum yum from Greggs, Samosas, a Dairy Milk, Kit Kat, Can of pop) to provide me with energy for the day and taken painkillers, and took painkillers throughout the day. The day went well, so well I had not even noticed the time. It was supposed to finish at 3, but I ended up leaving at 4.15pm.  There were great reviews, I suppose if they have me back in the future then I know I done have a great job. The owner Sam, was very complimentary, and the shop has had new fittings. The shop looks fab. And Sam was so accomodating and caring.

Whilst sitting near the shop window, I saw three of my work colleagues, all who knocked the window to get my attention and say hello. Nice to see you there. Throughout the day there were people watching from the window, come in I won't bite.

So most of today I have spent recovering, just got up from a nap and the pain in the back has started again. Today is a version of Shiela Halliwells card. I just love this range of Forever Friends collection. From next Sunday, I have plenty of new cards I designed for the demonstration I did this Saturday which I am sure you will enjoy.

These are one of the many cracking sentiments that Born to Shops have on their range of products and has been used in this stamp set from them called Shop Til You Drop. Penny Black Week 11

Hi and welcome to Penny Black Week 11. I did not think being busy with all the demonstration work that I would be able to make a card for you using Penny Black products, but I managed to squeeze one in. But only just.

I find it really funny that reading some of the facebook and twitter comments, and they are still ongoing about Misha B being a bully. When on the Xtra factor, Tulisia said ONE bitchy comment was made to ONE of my contestans. And on last nights show, Louis apologised and said that he was sorry in the moment he used the word bullying. Tulisia did not seem to happy last night either apart from enjoying Professor Greens song. Seems like there was some backstage bickering between Tulisia and Kelly - now why does Tulisia not talk about that bickering on TV!

In addition Louis apologised and Tulisia said Misha B was the best performance of the night.  Because that was the right thing to do after their antics and comments. But the damage has been done. Thats all I am going to say on this. Said enough on facebook, lol!

Forever Friends Sunday Week 31

Wow! Week 31! I have done good with this. I hope you did not miss a Forever Friends card last week. I had been busy. No, I have not missed a number. I realised after last week, it was nice to put a change on the blog. Or there may be week where I can not make a card for whatever reason. But I will try to make a card every Sunday. So I actually counted all the sundays I have posted a card, and there are 31 Sundays.

Did you watch X Factor last night? How tactical and rude of Louis Walsh and Tulisia to slam another artist for being big headed, arrogant and bullying! They know none of their acts come up anywhere close to Misha B's and Misha B is a threat to their contestants. They also know viewers are easily influenced by what they say. If they say an act is good.  If they claim an act is bigheaded, bingo - that is what people will say. And bingo that is a lot of people are saying now, no one was saying that before tonights show. I can not believe Louis and Tulisia do that to bring bad press to her. She don't seem too confident to me, she is what the judges say a complete package. And Gary is right - what happens backstage happens backstage.

I also agree with a lot of the viewers comments, they do not let the talent through to the shows.

How many acts today are in the charts these days who are known for the diva and bratty ways. In addition, how many X Factor finalists who won the show are actually still around, apart from Leona Lewis. Joe Mcelderry was dropped. It is because people go with the sympathy vote, they deserve a chance and when their song hits the charts they flop cos they do not have the X Factor or any talent. When real talent wins the shows, they do well such as Alexandra Burke and Leona Lewis. I do not think X Factor works in the UK, cos people vote for their acts, but once the show is over they are forgotten about and do not carry on with their support.

Let real talent win. Sorry I had to get this of my chest. Anyways, onto todays card. I can not remember where I had the inspiration for this one from, but I hope you like it.

Chocolate...

A technique that Clare Curd showed on TV was to create your own chocolate looking toppers using square adhesive gems. I really did enjoy doing this card, and people had lots of fun seeing this card at the demo. Before the card sold, I did add sentiments, ribbons, and bows and gems. This picture was taken right after the demo.

Pickles...

Happy Sunday Morning to you.

I have delayed posting the Forever Friends Sunday card until next week, I hope that I have not yet bored you with all the cards from Wild Rose Studio.
To see my other cards I have made over the last year or so with these products, you can always click on the labels at the end of the post. Alternatively click here, you will see all the cards from the past week, then carry on scrolling and you will see all the others I have made.

Many times when I have been demonstrating, a lot of people do not follow a project because they feel they need to go and buy the little extras that have been used on the project and do not feel they can justify that expense or afford it for every little project. However, what i try to teach them to be inventive and use what you have in touch. Todays card, follows a project on the site, but here i dont have those luxurious hat style pins, or organza ribbons. So i have used a punch i have to accent the sentiment on the front of the card, and followed it with a trail of silver glitter dots. I think it is equally as effective. I hope you like.

Also, what I like about the Wild Rose Studio Jolly Greetings Stamp and Christmas Circles Stamp, you can use them on any Christmas card, not just Wild Rose Studio. And are two stamps that are definitely value for money

Mia With Cracker

Lots of things to do and so much little time, what is a girl to do!

Oh well, better to be busy that quiet! Just catched up on watching tv today and the launch of SWALK christmas stamps! About time! How long have people been asking for them, they got the Humphrey christmas range out sooner. But I think this time, I will buy the stamps individually than the whole set! There are some I am not really keen on this time. They say on tv, that they wanted to create cards for the whole winter season and to cater for birthdays etc. Which is nice, but it is not really listening to all the people out there! Christmas SWALK - baubles, trees. Only a couple really fit that description for me. But at least they are here and with the change of the sentiment they can be used for both christmas and wintry birthdays.

Don't forget the Wild Rose Studio Blog Hop, you can use any paper or product as long as it is christmas themed. You have til Monday to enter. And there is a lovely grand prize, do come and join us here

The inspiration for the above card came from the site, which were these cards below I made with my slight variation on it. I hope you enjoy it. Tomorrow there will be a Pickle card day. Check out my Tuesdays card by clicking on the label below this post.
