Another Busy Weekend

Hi, I have another busy long weekend with my family again! Looking forward to this get together. It starts thursday, and finishes sunday!

The bank holiday was lovely, nice BBQ and it stayed hot! woohoo!

After my appointment on Friday, we are heading off to London!

So will catch up with you all Sunday, i maybe just head straight to bed on Sunday i may be knackered if i dont get any sleep. The trouble is that once i wake up, i wake up and can not get back to sleep whether it is 4am, or 6am. and no matter how hard i try i can not get back to sleep! I even got up and crafted before but that makes me even more wide awake because i get all the ideas floating in my head!

Catch up with you all soon!

New Card

I made this card, not sure what i think of it yet. I created this in mind with the sketch challenge at Clare Curd's Signature Range Blog, the three colours challenge at docrafts and the round / round challenge at Daisy and Dandelion Challenge blog. I had created Mixie to go on as a topper from the CCSR Range (combination of the two girls in the Stamping Chic Party Set), however i decided i would use some of the stamps i have from the Daisy and Dandelion range which hasnt seen ink yet. Only because i thought i would be cuter! I nearly adapted this card for the brown and blue challenge at the Stampin Chic blog, but the blue buttons, blue gem stones, blue hat and cake - didnt look right to me. So i stuck with the brown.

When i saw the challenge a couple of weeks back at Stampin Chic to create your own background, i thought this was easy again with the stamps. However, after seeing all the design teams card who did just that. I wanted to do something. So i went to my local craft shop and bought this paisley stencil. I created this background, with this stencil, highlighted the raised areas with shimmer chalks. However i was getting all shimmered too, so i fixed it with a bottle of fixative spray.

I layered this onto brown paper which has a gold shimmer to it, i tored the edges using docrafts new Victorian ruler. I do like this one as it appears more of a natural edge to it. My first attempt at ripping.

I had a bit of brown paper left and therefore, i tore the edges of that, and created that as the stripe in the middle. I added three gem stones, three buttons. Then added the sentiment stamp at the bottom using cat eye chalk inks.

I used Daisy and Dandelion Birthday Collection Stamp Set from Glitterpot for the main image.

Products used:
Square Cream Card Blank
Brown Card Stock
Paisley Stencil
Embossing Stall
Shimmer Chalks
Adhesive 3mm stones
Daisy and Dandelion Birthday Collection Stamp Set
Chalk cat eyes
Brown Buttons

Stitching Challenge At CCSR Blog

At the Stampin Chic Blog here:
http://clarecurdsignaturerange.blogspot.com/

This weeks challenge is to create a card using stitching, whether it be real or faux stitching. There are fabulous cards from the design team this week, to oodle over for inspiration or give it a go yourself.

I loved this colour combination of turquoise and Yellow card, so i created another, and also am entering this for Clare's Sketch Challenge at docrafts.

I have used the Papermania Duo Stamp - Present / Happy Birthday Round Stamp at a bargain price of £1.99. Also, i have used Clare's Stamping Chic Party Stamp Set and wide turqoise organza ribbon. I hope you like. Again i have created my own background using blending blocks - shades of carribean with the stamp duo. And added faux stitching to the main image.

Bank Holiday and Catch Up

I had a fab bank holiday weekend, the stall went well. It wasnt brilliant, but it wasnt bad either. Hope everyone had a fab weekend as well, just ashame it was too short. oh well, look forward to the next bank holiday.
.
Been busy as of late, have booked myself up with a few stalls. So craft craft crafting away.

I was very sad to hear of Tab stepping down from the Stampin Chic Design Team, but i am happy she is now happy and doing what she loves. I do miss her their as this weeks faux stitching challenge was really ideal. I hope she will consider still participating in some of the challenges. Tab, we miss you and do not worry. You have not let anyone down, you have to do what is right for you. Hope everything goes well, i still love your cards and will try to get to your blog as much as possible.

I have been trying to enter some design teams, however when i do manage to be part of a design team will be sure to let you know!
