Sorry You're Leaving

I made this card for my good friend Shaunna at work, whose last day at work it was. We had become good friends. I was seriously going to miss her. She came in as a temp, and her contract was up and a person was coming back to the department.

This card was from all of us. I wanted the card to remain effective and not over the top. The circles represent bubbles - as she used this instead of a swear word. Pink elephants - is this thing between us. She calls me pink elephants. She always need a fan.

Her presentation was going to be at 11.30am. Then all of a sudden, our manager disappeared out of the office. So we couldnt do it at 11.30am. It was going to be in the afternoon. Then we found out that Shaunna is staying a bit longer! yay!

No one had an idea. Oh well, this was a trial run. Bless her, she bought us all gifts and a big treat for her last day!

Poor Service From Docrafts / Design Objectives

I am utterly shocked at the service i am receiving, you would think a company who has made the mistake once would learn from it, but they dont. They do not learn and keep making the same mistake again and again.

I ordered goods from the docraft previously, some sale stamps. I had all the stamps arrive, apart from one which appeared that when someone opened the box whilst picking had damaged the stamp. Then tried to cover it up by putting paper on the top and still sticking it in my box to be posted. On receipt of this. I sent docrafts an email with pictures. Replacements were sent out immediately, but did not get an apology or anything. They were not interested in who had picked the order or showed me that they made any attempt to resolve the issue. I also had ordered papers in this order, which also arrived damaged. Being just a corner, you can work around that. I did not complaint about that.

however on my recent order, why should I be surprised that they messed it up again. the papers were damaged, bent, and distressed. I have been overcharged on postage, at first they denied it and now they admit it is true. They will not issue the refund. They dont check their facts before emailing you with utter rubbish. They packed paper in a cardboard box with paper stuffing. Hello, how can shredding cardboard protect paper. they both have the same qualities - bendable, therefore damagable! Other companies where i have ordered paper from - at least there stuff is packed in stern stuff!

My advise to you if you choose to buy docrafts products is to buy them of reputable sites where you will get the correct order and that they are not damaged! Sites like:

Moving Along With The Times & Forever Friends Challenge

I dont know if the above picture is too clear, but i added red shimmer chalks onto the edges of the white card and on the heart. It adds a nice finishing touch. I then punched lots of circles out to add behind the Forever Friends image.
The background is my own creation, using a mini Rose stamp out of the Bargain bucket at The Range.
I created this card in mind for the Moving Along With The Times Blog Challenge instead of the text i added four square adhesive gems. (2nd Picture).

I also am entering this card onto Forever Friends Blog Challenge who are celebrating their 21st Birthday with anything goes challenge. They also have blog candy up for grabs. Each DT member as a folder of forever friends to give away. A great challenge to enter. So check it out. http://www.foreverfriendschallengeblog.blogspot.com/

Baby Pic

Here is the picture of the baby, the poor thing is on a antiobiotics unnecessarily. The nurses keep giving it instead of chasing the result. Which my mum got on their case, so he is free of antiobiotics and hopefully if he stays fever free he will be home tomorrow! Poor baby, has gone through so much.

Good News

The baby was born by emergency ceasarian 8.05pm, as the heart beat dropped further. The baby is at 7lbs, good weight. Baby is being kept under observation and so is the mother. But they are now both doing good. I am so relieved and excited!!!!!!!!!!! woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bad News

My mums friend was, well is pregnant. Her water burst Saturday, they were scheduled to due to the C Section Sunday because of this. Then they said no, because it was a sunday and not an emergency. They said bring her in on Monday. Two hours before she was scheduled to go in, she went into labour. The baby has made little movement to the position it needs to be, in order to be pushed out. Now unfortunately, things have gone worse, baby has probably now got an infection and its heart beat is not good either now.

They said they will do a c section, but here this for incompetency.

The nurse said you are not important enough, the doctor will decide when ready what to do and there are other important cases! WTF! sorry, if the baby heartbeat is now not good, WHAT THE FUCK DO THEY CALL AN EMERGENCY, THEN! Neither mum or baby is doing good.

I have been told as soon as the water broke, the baby is not safe to be inside, and they should have done something sooner. I will seriously kick up a fuss. I am just praying and hoping that they both will get through this.

UPDATE: The baby's heart beat dropped further, and they have finally taken her in for a ceasarian.

Colour Create Challenge - Blue and White

I was blog hopping in blog land, and looking for challenges to inspire me. I came across a challenge blog, called Colour Create. I do like the idea of the challenges, and there is oodles of inspiration. What i love about this blog you are not restricted on your product brand.
http://colourcreatechallenge.blogspot.com/

I have made this card using Jessie Edwards Boutique Clear Stamp set, dark blue pigment ink, clear embossing powder, dark blue coordinations cardstock and blue adhesive gem stones. I stamped the small florish stamp all over the white card stock, matted this onto blue card stock. Then created the topper.

This card was sort of a happy accident, i started off to create a blue and white card, i had another idea in mind which i wasnt pleased with but ended up making this one!

Off topic, i think i finally understand Colour Blocking. Dont know what took me so long! lol, never mind.

Clare's Colour Block Challenge

I am not sure I quiet understand this challenge, but on viewing the beautiful cards from the design team, it appears to be mainly using one colour. So here is my take on this challenge.

I used the grooves on my guillotine, to score the card. Using Clare's Doodle Stamp Set, i stamped the flower branch onto the black card. I then added a strip of monochrome paper from CCSR Big 1 Paper, and added this onto the middle of the card.

I created the above scene in the white square using the butterfly and the flower branch. I added Silver glitter, and cut on one of the greetings from the CCSR Paper and added this onto the card. I hope you like, and i hope this card suits this challenge.

Champagne Toast and Thank you

I appreciate everyone who has taken the time to drop by on my blog, and leave such kind words about my grandma. I appreciate it in this difficult time.

Whilst I have not made any new cards recently, i thought i would share this old card with you. I have used one of Clare Curds previous Sketches from her blog and the inspiration from fellow docrafter, Tina.
.
This uses the Champagne Toast Stamp which was on sale on the docrafts site at a Bargain Price. I have embossed this, with clear powder mounted it onto coordinations card stock. I then matted and layered some Papermania Antique Cream Creative Tones Patterned paper onto brown card stock and added sparkling trims. I restamped the toast, added into the bottom corner. I applied a sticker greeting and added adhesive gem stones. To make the champagne more real I added 3d clear Gloss. I punched a couple of hearts out, stuck them down and added Glitz it Glitter Glue.
.
I hope you like, this could be adapted for many occasions although in this one i chose Happy Anniversary :)

New Cards ...

I was going to make some new cards, but i have ran out of Brown card stock. I have used every single sheet. So until the weekend when I can get to my local craft shop to get some Brown Card Stock single sheets, these cards will have to wait. This is a shame as i wanted to finish the cards off for the Be Chic at Clares Stamping Chic Blog. Never mind I perhaps can use this card idea and layout on another challenge. Now i am off to listen to more MJ music and Blog hop for inspiration and ideas.

Goodbye Michael Jackson

I have seen several posts about Michael Jackson going around the blog world about his highs and lows. All these posts have said it all, and i do not have anything to add. I would like to keep my post short and sweet. I plan to remember him as I have always done an extremely talented, kind individual and through his legendary music. They were really touching speeches at the Memorial Service. Usher sang it well 'Gone Too Soon'.

Food Poisoning

I am so ill, I dont know whether it is food poisoning or a combination of this weather! I feel so ill. Dont know about all my crafting buddies, i am finding so difficult to sit in my room and make anything in this gorgeous weather! Hope to be back with some cards soon.
