Comment Left On My Blog: Your thoughts please

This is my second post for today, scroll down to see the card.

Below in bold is a comment that was posted. I chose to post an update with regards to my plaster, as people leave me messages and email asking me how I am.

Second of all, this is my blog, not just about card making but for anything I want to post on here. If you only come for the pictures of card to save to your pc and then copy to make yourself, and take credit. Go and learn card making - its about being individual and making your own cards. Not copying.

I wanted to add some light heartness to my blog, and some fun and a different slant to blogging. Rather than the run of the mill, here is my card, i used x products to make this card and I am entering this into x amount of challenges. I want my blog to stand out.

This is the comment that was left:

Hiyas Sarpreet. Does this have any relevance to card making, or is there any interest that it might hold for any of your readers? Probably not. Keep on-topic or we will go elsewhere.
Hugs,
Sue

User left name but no link or email address. Typical. I nearly chose not to publish the comment. But wanted your thoughts on the comment.

Apologies for my rant - but I work hard on my craft and my blog. And I will not be posting cards every day of the week. This is currently not possible due to my current Health and being a full time carer for my mother. I will post when I can, and what I am able to do so. Thanks.

  1. I read your post about the waterproof stuff for plasters with interest, although I didn't have time to reply. Lots of blogs have all sorts of entertaining and interesting asides along with details of the cards - I enjoy that kind of blog. Carry on doing what you're doing, I'll still be visiting! Ger x.

  2. I completely agree with you....it's your blog...you can put on it whatever you want. Personally I prefer blogs with mixed posts...rather than only crafting....I do the same on mine.

  7. How rude. Perhaps if she's not happy she can vote with her feet "Goodbye" (wave).

The best thing to do is ignore people like this xxxx

  8. I agree Sarpreet, it's your blog and the content is your choice. It is not for Sue Seyer, or indeed anyone else, to tell you what you can do with it. Did someoneforce her to look and comment?

  9. Sarpreet, I´m shocked! Please don´t stop creating your blog your way! It´s your blog and I always enjoy visiting it because of your cards AND because of how you let me know what´s up with you! That´s very personal and it feels a little bit like beeing a friend in real live. I also write personal things in my blog. Don´t listen to such stupid comments your blog is perfect! xx Bianca

  10. It's your blog Sarpreet. Any of us who have active blogs know how much hard work it takes to keep it going. I always pop in bits and pieces about things that go on in my life and I enjoy reading others' blogs with interesting chat too.

Don't let one sour comment ruin your enjoyment or stop you from sharing the things you want to share.
    Hugs,
    Edna x

  11. How rude! I hope the author of the comment is ashamed of themselves. I love your blog, hearing your news and seeing your brilliant crafty makes. Keep on doing what you do so well, and don't let one selfish person spoil your day. Hugs, Jan x

  13. That comment is very rude and totally uncalled for! I really enjoy reading about what fellow bloggers get up to and have to say I much prefer it to an "all card/craft blog" any day! Keep you chin up and do what you like on your blog!
    Love, Alex

  14. No one forces anyone to read a persons blog - if Sue doesn't like what she's seeing I'd say don't bother coming back

  19. I can't believe people can be so horrible! Part of enjoying someone's blog is getting to find out about their daily lives and sharing their highs and lows. I've talked about my ill cat on my blog lately so maybe I'll get rude comments too!! You must definately keep your blog the way it is!!

  21. Oooh, nasty! It doesn't surprise me that there are people like this out there - but I'm pretty gobsmacked that she decided to add 'hugs' to such a spiteful comment! She is probably an unhappy person, I've bookmarked your blog because I enjoy reading it, so do keep doing it just the way you like!

  22. Although my own blog is at the moment strictly about creative matters, I have to say that as a reader I actually prefer "mixed" blogs. You could add a little survey gadget to your blog if you are unsure. But I think that you can rest assured as you have many followers - that's proof enough, isn't it? And yours really isn't one of the more chatty ones out there - nine out of ten of your posts are about cardmaking only, at least that'my impression.

  23. I think Sues comments are outrageous actually. I care about my fellow bloggers as well as the work they do, and welcome any news about them x You carry on doing what you are doing Sarpreet, you are a breath of fresh air. x Leigh x

  24. Gosh, Sarpreet. I've just been scrolling down at what you've been doing lately and came across this post. I'm shocked. What a nasty person saying such a thing - I bet it upset you to begin with, it would have me, before indignation set it. Take no notice and continue writing what you like on your blog. If people don't want to read it, they can scroll to the bits that do interest them. I personallly like to know a bit about the person behind the blog. Take care. Sue.

  25. Hi Sarpreet, I meant to comment on this when you posted but life got in the way as my DH is suffering with man flu and has generously shared it with me. I have to agree with Leigh, amongst others, this person't comments are outrageous and she is totally out of order, and, frankly, if she trots of elsewhere for her kicks I don't think you should lose any sleep over it. I know how hard it is to ignore such criticism - I had my first fairly nasty comment recently and I simply deleted it ... I wasn't going to give him, yes, it was a man, the satisfaction of knowing whether his comment had been read or not. I also added him to the 'spam' list! The contents of a blog are whatever the blogger choses them to be ... mine includes, cooking recipes, visits to places of interest & holidays, gardening, etc. As a follower of your blog, I'm interested in you and whatever you're up to and that is not confined to the cards you make :) Elizabeth x

  26. Hiya Sarpreet,

I am so sorry for my wicked comment last weak, I love your blog and I would not usually dream of posting rude messages, I could not remember writing it. When I visited your blog again on Monday I was in tears of shame to sea what I had written, I have Chronic Acute Pompholyx which means that I get really bad blisters on my hands and feet. They split and go scaly and crack and usually get infected. It is so painful, I find it very hard to walk or type or even touch things, and I can not work, I operate my lap top using Dragon NaturallySpeaking® Voice Recognition Software, I am on pain medication for it all the time and some times I take moor than I should and go a bit crazy, I think when you talked about your broken legs it made me think of my own problems and it made me angry at myself, I do not have a blog of my own, I am trying card making but they are USELESS and I am two ashamed to show them. To show you how sorry I am I have written you a poem, to show you how sorry, and how much I respect you for what you do despite your illness and other troubles.

If you are an oak, I am an acorn.
If you are a sunflower, I am a seed.
If you are a butterfly, I am a maggot.
If you are an escalator, I am a stepping stool.
If you are a brain surgeon, I am a retard.
If you are a corncob, I am a colonel.
If you are a mansion, I am a bungalow.
You are a bigger person than me.

I am so SORRY Sarpreet for any offence that I caused You or your Readers.

    Hugs,
    Sue

  27. Hi Sarpreet

I heard about the unpleasant posting and hopped over to add my words of outrage just now. Keep your blog as it is chick, I've been following and wondering about your progress - as well as loving the work you do card making. Don't change a thing!

However, I think that Sue Seyer has been very brave in returning to apologise. It made me feel very sad to read what she wrote in her apology and I don't doubt at all that it really came from the heart Sarpreet.

I'm now clear after a couple of years of absolute hell from Pompholyx Eczema on my hands and feet - it's agony and little can be done to ease it. I'd never even heard of it before but it's awful. Thankfully I'm clear right now, but still looking over my shoulder:) Sue undoubtedly has a battle going on - and there is no cure. Just the hope that it will run its course, but that's not always the case.

Sue, if you read this - please don't be too hard on yourself, you realised what you'd done and apologised, which took courage. Keep trying with the card making and if you want to swop thoughts about things to try with the card making, hop over to my blog and email me. My heart goes out to you - but if you do hop over - be prepared for recipes, hedgehog tales, stories of my mishaps and goodness know what else.

Back to you Sarpreet - keep up the good work, we love you as you are and please try to forgive Sue.

    Di
    xx

  28. Hi Sarpreet. It's Di again, I've been reading your blog and wondering how come I didn't know about your latest happenings. Dumbo here tidied up the blogs on my dashboard and lost you :( So if I pop up again as a follower it's just me coming back. I really shouldn't be let out to play with my blog sometimes. I wonder how many others I lost at the same time :( Di xx
